This Register article made me check my buddy list, and behold at the very bottom was these bastards. The oddity of course is that on Trillian AIM buddies are flagged as yellow circles yet how these bots got flagged with custom icons is beyond me.
In Trillian I maintain connections to AIM/MSN/Y!/Jabber, but no longer ICQ after my account was recently hacked/deleted (it’s unrecoverable), so this has to be coming from the AIM protocol.
