I am sick of seeing TrackBacks embedded as comments is simply spam. The issue here is that the quoted text is almost always pointless in it’s location in the vertical feed of comments. Seeing five of these in a row, linking to aggregate sites with no additional thought or comment on the topic, frustrates any user attempting to read comments on the original article. See example here
Bloggers suffer from their own hubris, wanting all the recognition they can get. So incoming comments, even if it simply is another site boosting it’s own reputation with search engines for ad revenue.
So what do I do about these TrackBack links? Since I only run into them as a user, as this site doesn’t have a obvious feedback system, I simply stop reading comments all together on that site. I’m not sure who loses here, all I know is I save significant time.

Use TrackBacks and PingBacks interchangeably. Like anyone cares what backend technology is causing your spam.
